As I recently installed Firefox I found this tip very useful. It helped me to see just how little sometimes we know about our own computers, which seemed the overwhelming response from other members too. I`ve downloaded the SpoofStick and it`s really good.

If you use Firefox (my recommendation) you should be aware that there are extensions that you can add to the browser to increase security, etc.

Go to tools->extensions.
A window will open showing you what extensions you have installed.
Click on the link at the bottom of the window that says Get More Extensions

On the next window (this will open in a new tab if you have Firefox configured properly) click on Privacy in the left panel.

There are two extensions I recommend: SpoofStick and SwitchProxy.

SpoofStick tells you exactly what site you are on, not what the webmaster wants you to think. This will tell you immediately if the site is a spoof, or phishing site or the real thing.

SwitchProxy allows you to switch between proxy servers (which includes tunnels)
One caveat. It will only work if your tunnels use different ports, such as MetroPipe and Primedius. MetroPipe uses 8080 and Primedius uses 8999.
